New London exhibition to showcase free events

Eventbrite is set to host its first multimedia exhibition, showcasing how important free events are to UK culture. The exhibition, at the Oxo Tower in London, will run from 6th to 10th April.

Called ‘Free: Celebrating Free Events For All’, it will feature more than 300 multimedia works. Photography, video, posters, and audio are included, all celebrating the success of complimentary events in the past few decades.

These types of events, held at some unusual venues in London, allow anyone to access cultural activities, regardless of background or financial situation, helping to bring communities together.

Visitors to the exhibition can see coverage of important celebrations in UK history. Castlemorton, Pride, Carnival, early Rolling Stones concerts, and UK raves and festivals from the 1970s to 1990s, will feature.

Free panel discussion

Eventbrite will mark the start of the exhibition with a free panel session. ‘Celebrating Free Public Music Events’ begins at 18:00 on 6th April, and focuses on the role of free events in the UK, showing how they have helped to shape tastes in music.

Those involved in running free public music events will take part in the discussion, which will explore the legacy and look at how the sector can grow in the future.

Hold a free event

Individuals working in the events industry have the chance to hold their own free event on 9th April at London’s Barge House by filling in a form through the Eventbrite UK Facebook Page.
