New London festival launches by the Thames
A new festival has been announced that will take place by the edge of the River Thames in Fulham this summer.
The Caught by the River Thames Festival features a host of top acts, including Super Furry Animals and is in the perfect location to spend a summer’s day.
Taking place on 6th and 7th August, the festival will be in the grounds of one of the most beautiful venues in London. Fulham Palace, close to the river, is at the point where the Thames starts to leave the buzz of the city behind.
The festival is set to be one of the summer’s best and would make a perfect social event combined with a Thames party boat hire package.
Caught by the River website and Robomagic, a quality music promoter, have brought together a fantastic line-up. As well as the headline act, you can see Minnesota trio, Low, Gwenno, folk musician Ryley Walker, Beth Orton, Laura Cannell, Jonny Trunk and Mulatu Astatke.
Alongside the top-class music acts, visitors will also be able to listen to a range of readings and talks, hear a Heavenly Records DJ set, sample some speciality beers and taste food from across the globe.
The Faber Poetry Chapel will feature Joe Dunthorne, Will Burns, Patrick McGuinness and Crispin Best, among others. Those with artistic inclinations can take part in workshops run by Matt Sewell, Nick Hand and Pete Fowler. This will all be packed into the two days, in the relative tranquillity of Fulham Palace.
Further details on the festival are available on the Caught by the River website, where you will also be able to purchase tickets.
