New riverside hotel wins prestigious conference contract
The new InterContinental London – The O2 will host this year’s Procurement Leader’s World Procurement Congress and Awards after winning a three-year contract. The purpose-built venue has only recently opened but is fast becoming one of the most exciting in London.
The 2016 congress, taking place on 17th and 18th May will see more than 700 delegates from over 20 countries attend the venue. The two days will include presentations, meetings, networking and break-out sessions, as well as an awards evening on the final night.
The congress will attract delegates from major brands, including SAP, Google, Huawei and Coupa, as they showcase their latest products and innovations.
The hotel, chosen for the high-quality conference and accommodation facilities it provides, is accessible for transport links, making it a practical solution. The InterContinental London – The O2 has 453 bedrooms and a 4,500 square metre conference venue. There are 19 meeting rooms and a 3,100 square metre pillar-free area in the Arora Ballroom.
Away from the centre
The flexibility of space within the hotel is likely to attract more large-scale events, as organisers see there are alternatives to central London locations that provide the necessary facilities.
The hotel, in the east of London, was awarded the contract to host the procurement conference, which had previously taken place in the West End. This shows that event organisers will look beyond traditional venues and locations if the proposition meets their needs.
With a prime location on the River Thames, the hotel provides a stunning setting for any event, with the opportunity to utilise a Thames boat hire package to transport delegates or create additional networking space.
